🚀 Teamwork to the Moon and Back
Our Year 2 explorers swapped the classroom for the great outdoors as we took our Outer Space topic into our forest school lesson!
It was wonderful to watch the children's imaginations take flight. Using only the natural treasures they found on the forest floor—like fallen branches, stones, and crisp leaves—they worked in "mission crews" to design and build their very own space rockets.
This lesson wasn't just about building; it was about collaboration. The children did a fantastic job of:
• Sharing ideas: Deciding together where the "thrusters" should go or how big the cockpit needed to be.
• Problem-solving: Figuring out which sticks were strong enough to form the rocket’s nose cone.
• Communicating: Working as a team to gather materials and bring their cosmic visions to life.
We are so proud of how well the children supported one another and talked through their ideas.
