Celebrating Outdoor Learning

8th May 2025

This week the children spent even more time outside to celebrate Outdoor Learning Day today. The children developed their social skills by sharing ideas, resources, and they took turns to plant their seeds and make flower potions at the mud station. They also discussed their creations, such their detailed observational drawings of different homes.

Physically the children strengthened their muscles by stretching and bending their bodies and they made different shapes with their peers. They even carried a wide range of loose parts to create dens that they could play inside. Intellectually the children worked together, using their Thinking Skills to come up with the best way to design and build a teepee for their teddy, and then they selected more materials to further enhance and strengthen it.

The children developed their communication skills by discussing which insects and flowers they discovered, and they used key vocabulary to describe them. Emotionally the children were very proud of their creations and of the challenges they completed in the outdoors. Every child experienced a real sense of achievement. We look forward to even more outdoor learning tomorrow!
