Eco Week 🌱 🍓

13th Jun 2025

We had a busy but fun time during our whole-school Eco Week! Throughout the week, we harvested crops, weeded our allotment, planted cress seeds and had a WOW Wednesday where we walked or wheeled to school if we could. 🛴

In our allotment the strawberries were ripe and ready to eat—everyone agreed they tasted absolutely delicious! 🍓 Helpers in P3 had fun delivering little pots of strawberries to our teachers and assistants to enjoy!

A special highlight was a visit from a representative of Belfast City Council, who gave an informative and fun talk all about recycling. Children learned how to reduce waste and take better care of our planet.

Each class then created a colourful and creative poster to encourage recycling in our school. One winner was chosen from each class. During assembly, the winners proudly received a certificate and a chocolate coin as a reward for their efforts.

It was a fun-filled week that helped us all think about how we can do our part for the environment every day! ♻️
