P2CB’s Underwater Art

10th Oct 2025
In P2CB, we explored photographs of different fish and used them as a stimulus for creativity. We discussed the shapes, colours and textures we could see, and then used chalk pastels to blend and smudge, creating our own underwater scenes.

This activity encouraged the children to develop their observational skills, expressive language, and creativity through Art and Design. Using visual images as a stimulus also helped us to express personal ideas and feelings through colour and pattern.

To celebrate our work, we held a “walking art gallery.” Each child had the opportunity to view their classmates’ artwork, choose their favourite design, and talk about what they liked and appreciated about it. This supported skills in communication, confidence, and peer encouragement.

We hope you love our colourful underwater designs as much as we do!
