Well Teddy Clinic 🧸
This week, P3 had a fantastic visit to round off our Marvellous Me topic. We welcomed the wonderful Nurse Niamh to school, who brought the excitement of the hospital right into our classrooms for the Well Teddy Clinic!
Nurse Niamh told us a captivating story about Teddy, who had a little accident and broke his leg while playing in the Stormont park. This led to a very informative talk about what happens if you ever have to go to the Ulster Hospital. P3 listened carefully and learned all about the amazing people who help us get better.
Since we've become experts on the human body, Nurse Niamh put our knowledge to the test! She showed us real X-rays and we got quizzed on the names of the bones we learned this term, P3 showed off how much they remembered 🤩
The highlight of the visit was definitely bringing our teddies to attend the Well Teddy Clinic. Every P3 pupil brought in a poorly teddy and Nurse Niamh taught us the essential skill of bandaging. She carefully wrapped up all our teddies' bruised legs, arms and heads. The hall quickly turned into a busy hospital ward as we enjoyed some amazing roleplaying, caring for our newly bandaged patients!
A massive thank you to Nurse Niamh for making our topic finale so much fun and so memorable! P3 are now ready to be doctors and nurses…at least for their teddies!
