As part of our WAU topic All About Me, we have been learning how we need to take care of ourselves and others by covering our mouths and noses when we cough and sneeze, and washing our hands so we don’t spread our germs. We enjoyed seeing how far our germs can spread by using a spray bottle as our pretend sneeze. Then we watched to see how far our germs could spread when we passed a paint blob around the circle by shaking hands. Those germs can really spread! To finish off we carried out an experiment using slices of bread. The first slice was our control slice, it was placed in a sealed bag by hands with plastic gloves on so that no germs were transferred. The second slice was passed around a few people before being placed in a plastic bag and sealed up. The last slice was passed around our whole class before being placed in a bag and sealed. We predicted what might happen, then we watched and waited to see if our predictions were right! You can see from our photos what happened!
