Phonics Time

16th Jan 2023

Today we were learning the different ways in which the ‘ee’ sound can be written. We discovered that some “ee” and “ea” words sound the same, have a different spelling and meaning; and these words are known as Homophones. As a class, we worked together to devise a list of Homophones, discussing the meaning of each word. Finally, we chose some homophones, illustrating their meaning and correctly spelling the word. We enjoyed thinking of lots of everyday words we use, not realising they were homophones! Can you think of any?
